Apple orchards of appreciation to those of you Earth Angels who have recently given gifts of poetry, stories, songs, fresh fruits, cards, fragrant flowers, feral soups, wild greens and other blissings as we step boldly together into this gifting economy built of our highest dreams of bountiful co-creation!
How sweet it is to be back in Ashland, Oregon, celebrating and festivating with friends, concluding what has been for us an unforgettable summer of intentional hermitting and communing with Nature along the Continental Divide through the Rockies up to Canada, then down via the Cascades to California.
And now, for The Raw Report live from Ashland, Oregon:
Figloading and other fruit-harvesting frenzies have been taking place from the roving rooftop of an unmarked creational vehicle. Indeed, the adorable, eco-friendly, culturally-rich villages of Mt. Shasta, CA and Ashland, OR are foragers’ delights. Tasty wild and ancient varieties of grapes, plums, pears, early apples, figs and berries now hang for miles along woodsy trails, many of which are flanked by a shady swimming stream or a pristine little lake. Meanwhile, a scrumptious gourmet array of such organic exotica as plump white blueberries, golden blackberries, albion and myriad other strawberries and black raspberries, for examples, are unabashedly offered up at Ashland’s Saturday Farmers’ Markets.
Recipe For Preserves: Raw fruit jams are fun and easy to create by smashing the fruits with a fork, then adding raw agave or sensitively-harvested raw honey and a few drops of lemon to taste. Simply jar and freeze, then smash a dollup upon to your favorite unbaked sprouted slice of bread as you fancy throughout the year.
Ashland’s gargantuan Tuesday Farmers’ Market reigns supreme in Oregon for discriminating raw veg friendly epicureans who revel in sampling scrumptious smorgasbords of papillae-empowering, creative culinary concoctions. Several newraw vegan booths have debuted this summer and are drawing subcellularly-glad, lip-smacking, smoothie-slurping crowds.
Feral dandelions, heirloom chard, and a blissful bounty of huge cucumbers grace our green juices.
Have you treated yourself to a gargantuan garden cucumber for lunch yet this summer? Have you purpled your luscious lips with blackberries or reddened them with thimbleberries? Only beets make finer lipstick.
With all this prolific produce pouring out of farmers’ gardens, now is the season to consider a juice cleanse which is why I’m inviting you to join Chris Whitcoe and I during our revelatory telephonic discussion about the results of juice cleansing – nothing short of miraculous. I have been occasionally fasting for many a moon via the cycles of the moon since the last century. In busier years, I began to incorporate juice fasting as an exciting, tasty, energizing alternative to the more hard-core water or dry fasting.
